In autumn, it’s time for the grape harvest and numerous festivals in the surrounding area. (festival de la BD, les rencontres gourmandes, les automnales,….). You’ll still enjoy sunny days amidst the harvest and the shimmering colors of the vines.

Overlooking the town and the campsite, Mont Ventoux is a must-see destination for sports enthusiasts and nature lovers. World-renowned by cycling enthusiasts, it is also known as the“Giant of Provence“, with an altitude of 1910 m. Dominating the horizon, the 380° view from its summit is simply magical. With summer temperatures 10°C lower than on the plains, it’s the ideal place to take a breath of fresh air.

Camping du Théâtre is at the heart of idyllic activities for the whole family, with something for everyone.
Within a 40 km radius, you’ll find plenty ofthemed attractions such as amusement and adventure parks, nature and historical trails, natural swimming spots, hiking trails…

Throughout the season, you’ll find plenty of events andentertainment in the heart of our region, especially at the Théâtre Antique.
The village festivals, with their fairs and concerts, are very popular, providing a real opportunity for sharing, exchanging ideas and discovering our local traditions.

Unmissable festivals
Here are a few not-to-be-missed events in Vaison-la-Romaine. Let’s start with Pentecost, when the whole town is in a frenzy thanks to its kermesse and concerts.
Then it’s on to the Fête de la Musique, where you’ll find a whole host of concerts all evening long.
At the Théâtre Antique, you can take part in the “Vaison Danse” festival, which takes place in July, and in August, it’s time for plays offered by the town. Throughout the summer, you can also enjoy concerts by international artists.
In September, discover our monuments during the Journées du Patrimoine. The season comes to a close in October with the Rencontres Gourmandes and the Automnales.
The Provencal market in Vaison-la-Romaine
Every Tuesday morning is the famous Provencal market in Vaison-la-Romaine,one of the most beautiful markets in France. It’s just 500 m from the Théâtre campsite. In season, you’ll find over 350 stallholders delighted to help you discover our local produce. As you stroll through the heart of the town, you’ll enjoy all the smells of the South , where fruit and vegetables rub shoulders with flowers, pottery, souvenirs and much more. It’s a not-to-be-missed event.
Other Provencal markets just a stone’s throw from the campsite in Vaucluse
If you’re not in Vaison for the Tuesday market, that’s okay. In the area around the Théâtre Romain campsite, you can discover other Provencal markets throughout the week, of varying sizes and just as authentic.
On Mondays you can go to Bédoin, or on Thursdays to Nyons, for example. You’ll find a full list of these events at reception.
